The Parador de Carmona is a luxurious four star hotel situated in a fourteenth century Arabic fortress. It overlooks the swimming pool which is 30 metres below the parador.
Carmona is one of Spain's National Monument Cities and has been visited by many famous rulers of the past including Julius Caesar and Muza the Arab invader. It is a wonderful place to explore with its palaces, mansions, convents and churches. The Parador has a Moorish style patio, wonderful halls with decorated ceilings and balconies overlooking the river below. The decor is very traditional with wood and leather furniture in rooms decorated with rugs, colourful curtains and military regalia.
This Parador has 51 twin bedded rooms, 9 double bedded rooms and 3 single rooms. All come equipped with a private bathroom, television, telephone and a mini bar.
The courtyard has a colonnaded cloister and Mudejar fountain. The old refectory is now used as the dining room is one of the most beautiful of the Paradors. It specialises in seasonal and local dishes including "Cartuja de perdiz" which is partridge served with vegetables; "Espinacas" spicy spinach and "Pechuga de pollo a la parrilla" roast chicken with vegetables and French fried potatoes.
